Allopatric and sympatric speciation.

Speciation can happen in the same geographical area sympatric speciaition. This would usually be caused by behavioural or temporal barriers.

Speciation can also occur in different geographical areas this is called allopatric speciation.

The different areas can have many differences in resources, abiotic factors and lead to different natural selective forces.
